Dr. Marco Hartmann began a six-month appointment at the Colorado Fuel Cell Center in January of 2010. During his tenure at the CFCC, Dr. Hartmann is developing catalyst coatings for ceramic microchannel reactors for use in steam reforming of methane fuel for solid-oxide fuel cell applications. Dr. Hartmann recently completed his dissertation at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, entitled " Generation of hydrogen by catalytic partial oxidation of higher hydrocarbons on Rhodium catalysts". In recognition of this work, Dr. Hartmann was awarded the prestigious Hermann-Billing-Prize 2009 from the University of Karlsruhe for outstanding graduation thesis. After completing his post-doctoral position at CSM, Dr. Hartmann will begin a position as scientist at BASF in Germany.
