I arrived at Mines in January of 2006 to pursue a PhD in engineering with a mechanical specialty. My research in the Colorado Fuel Cell Center is focused on utilizing a stagnation flow reactor in concert with computational models to study steam reforming of methane on hexaaluminate supported catalysts. To complement the surface kinetic studies I also use several characterization techniques including SEM, TEM, and EDX to further understand the nature of the catalysts.
I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in the spring of 2004 after which I worked briefly as a design and test engineer for a small manufacturing company in Massachusetts. I have enjoyed my time in Colorado very much as the number of outdoor activities it affords is seemingly endless. Some interests of mine include cycling, trail running, hiking, skiing and ultimate frisbee.
