My name is Danielle Williams and I am in my first year of graduate study in engineering with a mechanical specialty focusing on Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cells. The reason I chose the Colorado School of Mines for my masters was the opportunities offered in fuel cell research, the expertise of the faculty at Mines, and the use of the state-of-the-art Colorado Fuel Cell Center for research. I am currently working on a project looking a various defects in PEM manufacturing. The goal of the study is to see how various defects affect the overall performance of fuel cells.
I received my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2007 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. During my undergraduate career I held many co-ops including a semester in Germany as well as a summer with GM in their fuel cell division. Since moving to Colorado in August of 2007, I have been happy to call Golden my home and hope to remain here after graduation. Three passions of mine outside of school are climbing, ballroom dancing, and ultimate frisbee.
