My name is Amy Richards and I came to Colorado School of Mines in August 2007 to pursue a Master of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical Specialty).  Mines was my choice for graduate school because of its reputation, renewable energy research capabilities, and location.

Currently I work in the CFCC on the Separated Anode Experiment.  The aim of my work is to explore internal partial oxidation of hydrocarbon fuels, such as ethanol, in solid oxide fuel cell anodes.  I am also working to build a few new test stands for the center to expand current capabilities.

I earned my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering at Texas A&M University in 2006.  During my undergraduate career I held two summer internships with Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque, NM where I worked in the aerosols department.  Before moving to Colorado I worked at an engineering firm in California.  Some hobbies of mine outside of school include skiing, running, and cooking.  I love life in Colorado.
